Provincial Parks are maintained by the Province of BC. They usually offer services and can be reserved online.
Vanderhoof is surrounded by a multitude of recreational campsites. These sites are developed and maintained by the Province of BC and are found by accessing BC’s network of Forest Service Roads. They are free, unserviced, non-reservable campsites which are generally more rustic than Provincial Parks. A Backroads Mapbook is a must-have for road-trippers in BC, which maps out all the recreation sites and trails in the Province. You can purchase a Backroads Mapbook at the Vanderhoof Tourism & Cultural Centre.
